The Garden Yarn project presented us with completely new challenges, as the client simply said 'I want everything' when placing the order. After clarifying the details, it became clear that they wanted an all-encompassing webshop, with downloadable virtual products as well as physical clothing items. We also created a blog section for free patterns, which we linked to an interactive calendar system, making it easy for people to save the event to their personal calendar when a new free product is released. We set up various request forms for different types of inquiries.
We created a personalized Shop page and a corresponding personalized product page. We made sure to simplify the shopping cart and checkout process, so it wouldn't be overwhelming for customers. Of course, a good online store includes registration, so we aimed to create a tasteful and simple 'My Account' page where customers can manage their account, add and modify addresses, track orders, and download virtual products at any time.
A new feature we implemented is that the 'Legal' pages always show the appropriate page to customers based on geolocation, depending on the country from which they are viewing the webshop.
Another innovation is that we aimed to make the purchasing process as simple as possible from the admin side. The system automatically generates an invoice after each purchase, which is then automatically attached to the order summary email and sent to the customer. Additionally, we created a module that allows the webshop admin to easily assign a tracking number to a specific order with just a few clicks, and the system automatically notifies the customer about the update.
Overall, we really enjoyed this project, learned a lot of new things, and most importantly, the client was very satisfied with us when I handed over the keys to the webshop.
Below is a gallery of the completed website, as usual.
